6. Lights, camera, action!
You’ve just spent some time making sure your makeup looks conspicuous and you’re ready to go out and take on the world. But, stop, wait! We all thought we looked perfect at home and were horrified later in the day when we saw something in the mirror later in the day.
Before leaving the house, take a few minutes to do some lighting tests, especially if you are going somewhere where you will be photographed!
Once your makeup is done, first make sure it looks good under the bathroom lighting, since direct ceiling lighting is always your worst enemy. Then go outside and use a portable mirror to assess your appearance in natural light. If it’s dark outside, stay indoors and use a flashlight for additional lighting. You can even buy a lighted makeup mirror; some even come with settings that mimic different types of light. And finally, take a photo!
