How to make beet juice

Beet is a very healthy food that should be included in our eating habits, as it is rich in iron, vitamins B and C, potassium and carotene.

Although most of the time it tends to be eaten cooked, you should know that the best way to take advantage of all the properties that it offers is to eat it raw and what better way to do this than by making a nutritious juice!

  • 2 medium beets
  • Water
  • Half a lemon
  • Sugar or sweetener

Steps to follow to make this recipe:

1. Beetroot is a vegetable root whose consumption brings many benefits, and if you ingest it in the form of juice.

You can enjoy the following properties :

  • It stimulates the appetite and facilitates the digestion of food.
  • It is rich in antioxidants, which makes it an excellent food to combat cellular aging and prevent certain types of cancer.
  • It helps to maintain stable blood pressure.
  • It helps strengthen the immune system.
  • It promotes the elimination of toxins and cleansing of the body.

2. The first thing to do to make this juice is to prepare the beets, cleaning and cutting them properly.

Begin by removing the leaves and the tip of the root with a knife. Then wash them well to remove any remaining dirt and remove the skin with a knife or a peeler if you have one.

It is also possible to leave the skin on the beet, but in this case the final juice will have a bitter taste. Finally, cut the beetroot into long pieces and then bunch them together to dice them.

3. Put all the beet pieces in the glass of the blender and add a cup of cold water.

Then extract the juice from the lemon, use a manual or electric juicer and don’t forget to filter the liquid obtained if you don’t want to smell any leftover pulp when you drink the beet juice.

4. Add the squeezed lemon juice to the blender, along with the beetroot, and grind all the ingredients at medium power so that they blend together and are completely ground.

If the beet juice is too thick, add a little more water and you’re done! Taste it and add as much sugar or sweetener as you like, although you can also add a type of sweetener such as honey to make it taste a little more pleasant.

5. Although you can make beet juice from this vegetable alone, you can also add other fruits and vegetables such as apples or carrots to make a much more nutritious and vitamin-rich juice.
